2016
A Brittany and Wales co-production
For audiences from 13 years up
Breton, Welsh, Creole, English, French
Titling and audio translation
An innovative creation born of 4 years’ collaboration and interchange between Brittany, home to the Teatr Piba team and Wales, where Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru (Welsh-language national theatre of Wales) is based.
Mair, a Welsh womanwho has made a new life for herself in Brittany, has to go to a family funeral in Wales. The farm where she spent her childhood is to be sold. Mair beginsan inner journey which leads her to question her path in life. How much has she in fact chosen and how much is just going with the flow?

The first act opens on a cliff above the sea in Wales, the second in a spa which seems to be a sort of purgatory;in the third act we move to the flat she shares with her partner Loeiza in Brittany and her daily visit to the swimming pool. From one place to another, from one depth to another, Mair feelslike a fish carried against her will into the belly of a whale.

A strange man comes to the door to bring her something. Can this still her troubled soul? Can Mair come to an understanding of her journey? Will there ever be an end to thisjourney which forever spirals back to the beginning ?
